Last weekend was the first time I've been back to Niagara Falls since 1984. The falls haven't changed much but the city certainly has. The falls are as amazing as ever. We had a chance to take the Maid of the Mist to get a close-up and very wet view of both the Canadian Falls and the American Falls. It was a long wait but well worth it. Enjoy the pictures.
The city of Niagara Falls is akin to Gatlinburg, TN, or Branson, MO. Lots of souvenir shops and haunted storefronts. Good stuff for kids but not for the pocketbook. It seemed fairly expensive.
We also visited the Butterfly Conservatory. That was even more fun. There were thousands of butterflies and many, many different and colorful varieties. They were so friendly they would land on your head, shoulders, shoes, and even on the walkway in front of you. You had to be very careful where you walked.
Everybody knows where the falls are but here is how you get to the Butterfly Conservatory.
